Project: Meta-Analytical Review of DFAT Health Programming in Papua New Guinea

The Government of Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is developing a new Health Portfolio Plan (HPP) and other strategic documents for its next phase of support to the health sector in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The DFAT Health team wants to ensure that the insights and experiences from within the sector can be used to inform the HPP and other strategic documents.

DFAT requested the Human Development Monitoring and Evaluation Services (HDMES) program to undertake a meta-analytical review of 12 health sector investment review and evaluation reports. HDMES contracted Limestone Analytics to carry out the review from January to March 2024. Limestone shared preliminary findings in a round table discussion in January 2024 and again to a broader audience (including Canberra staff) in PNG in April 2024.
